Mike Harrison
Associate Pastor

I was born in Oshawa into a home that did not know Jesus as Lord. By the age of two I was in and out of the foster care system until the age of 8 at which time I was adopted into a family. Around that time, a neighbor up the road took me to church and through that I came to believe in Jesus as Lord. Unfortunately, due to circumstance and anger I quickly lost my way. But, at the age of 18 I moved into a Christian home and as a result ended up going to the New Brunswick Bible Institute where I repented and surrender my life to Christ. At bible school I felt the call for local church ministries. Following bible school I remained faithful to that calling and have served in the local church ever since both as a layman and a pastor. Though my life has had some odd turns, God has been good and I look forward to serving at Maple Hill as an Associate Pastor and to equipping our youth to serving God faithfully.  Email Mike here

He went to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and took his Masters of Divinity at Grace Theological Seminary in Indiana. Pastor Chad and Shelley were married in 1998. They have been attending MHBC together since 1998 when Chad became Youth Pastor here. They have 3 children: Kaylee ( born in 1999), Acacia (born in 2002) and Kezia (born in 2005). In his spare time, Pastor Chad enjoys running, woodworking, snowboarding, skiing and photography. His future plans are to serve God faithfully in whatever context God places him. For the foreseeable future to be a part of the ministry at MHBC, discipling believers and reaching the lost of Georgina.

Pastor Chad’s testimony:”I was privileged to grow up in a Christian home, and to have parents that were extremely dedicated to Calvary Baptist Church, Oshawa. It was through the ministry of Calvary and the dedication of my parents that at the age of 5 I received Christ as my personal savior. It was a Tuesday morning after being in the nursery program during a Ladies Bible Coffee Hour my mother had attended, that with my mother I prayed to receive Christ as my Savior. Looking back over the years there are several events that shaped and guided my life bringing me to where I am today. At the age of nine, I was hit by a car, the months that ensued being hospitalized was a time that I really decided to follow Christ. It was shortly after that that I was baptized. Through my high school years my involvement in the church continued to grow, and although there were times the youth pastor had to direct my energy, I never really rebelled. At the age of sixteen, at a Steve Camp concert I rededicated my life to God. Shortly after that I started to work on an award for Christian Service Brigade, the Herald of Christ. It was through this achievement that I felt the call of God on my life to attend Bible School and pursue full time ministry. I decided to apply and was accepted at Moody Bible Institute. Upon completion of a Bachelor of Bible/Theology, I decided more training was necessary to equip me for ministry and enrolled in Grace Theological Seminary’s Master of Divinity Program (a degree that I eventually graduated from in 2001). After completing my first full year of the program I was married to Shelley Delaney and we interviewed and were called to Maple Hill Baptist Church, where we having been serving for the past 13 years.”
